Nigel Westlake: Blueback - Original Soundtrack (CD)
Opening in cinemas around Australia on New Year’s Day, Blueback is a feature film based on the best-selling novel by Tim Winton – a timely tale about the ocean, a beautiful marine creature, and a young girl’s power to change the world. ABC Classic is proud to be releasing the music from this magical cinema experience: Nigel Westlake’s evocative orchestral score, performed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Benjamin Northey. Westlake’s music captures in all its richness the vastness and mystery of the ocean, the intimate touch of water on skin, the unique colours of underwater light and a profound sense of love and wonder.
