Albrecht Mayer

Bach Generations (CD)

On Albrecht Mayer’s new album, the Bach family’s impressive family tree is turned into a multifaceted example of ‘tonewood’. Featured here are works by members of three generations of the Bach family, starting with Johann Sebastian’s great-uncle Johann Christoph and ending with two of his sons. As such, this anthology may be said to be a musical visiting card for the Bach family – and it is hard to imagine a carte de visite being more impressive or more multifaceted than this one.
