Hilary Hahn

Eclipse (CD)

Eclipse, Hilary Hahn’s most personal album to date, recorded immediately after lockdown.

Featuring Dvořák’s and Ginastera’s Violin Concertos as well as Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy. Recorded with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and Andrés Orozco-Estrada.

"When I started planning this project four years ago, I had no idea what was about to overtake the world. I was ready for a deep dive into the Dvořák Violin Concerto. I was obsessed with the tantalizing, magical weirdness of Ginastera’s Violin Concerto, though I hadn’t learned it yet. And I loved Sarasate’s spirited “Carmen Fantasy”, which I had, for some reason, never played. I had a long history with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, and my work with Andrés Orozco-Estrada was extensive and musically liberated. This record was to be a celebration of the humanity of music and the merging of meaningful collaborations…" - Hilary Hahn
