Klaus Mäkelä

Sibelius: Complete Symphonies (4CD)

The young Finnish chief conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic, Klaus Mäkelä, presents his debut album on Decca Classics and dedicates himself to the works of his home country's most famous composer: Jean Sibelius. With the Oslo Philharmonic he has recorded the complete Sibelius symphonies and the fragments of the unfinished 8th symphony as well as Sibelius' last symphonic poem, Tapiola, Op.112. The Oslo Philharmonic has been performing the music of Jean Sibelius for over 100 years, with Sibelius himself conducting three concerts of his compositions in 1921.
