Alexander Gadjiev - Live (Sydney International Piano Competition 2021) (CD)
The Italian-Slovenian pianist Alexander Gadjiev was declared winner of the Sydney International Online Piano Competition 2021(The Sydney). Gadjiev took home an additional six coveted prizes.
As part of a new partnership between The Sydney and Universal Music Australia, an album of ‘live’ recordings from the 2021 event will be released on the Decca Eloquence label on 17 September 2021 featuring a range of repertoire from Haydn to Vine, performed as part of Gadjiev’s preliminary, semifinal and final recitals. The Sydney’s Artistic Director Piers Lane AO said, ‘The jurors all agreed that the level of this year’s competitors was outstanding. In Alexander Gadjiev we have an intelligent, communicative, elegant winner of extraordinary musical and pianistic prowess, totally ready to spread his wings.’
