Bracha Eden & Alezander Tamir

Eden & Tamir - Complete Decca Recordings (12CD)

In a career lasting some 50 years, the Israeli piano duo of Bracha Eden & Alexander Tamir garnered international acclaim from critics and audiences for their substantial and thoughtfully balanced programs, remarkable synchronicity and effortless technique: all qualities proudly evident in their recordings for Decca. This new edition presents their complete Decca recordings together for the very first time, all remastered at 24bit 192kHz and presented in original jackets, with many recordings making their first appearances on CD.

This new edition encompasses the majority of works at the heart of the piano duo canon. Highlights in the set include their debut LP (CD1) of works by Rachmaninov, Milhaud, Poulenc and Lutosławski, “clairvoyant teamwork” in Brahms’ Hungarian Dances & Dvorák’s Slavonic Dances, Stravinsky’s arrangement for four hands of The Rite of Spring, Poulenc’s Two-Piano Concerto; Satie’s Trois morceaux en forme de poire, Schubert’s Grand Duo, their survey of the then-rarely performed Liszt Opera paraphrases for two pianos and their final Decca project encompassing all of Mozart’s works for two pianos or four hands.
