Ernest Ansermet - The Stereo Years (88CD Boxset)
An Original Jacket 88-CD collection presenting together for the first time, Ernest Ansermet’s complete stereo recordings mastered from the original tapes in a single Limited Edition. The set is accompanied by a 168pp book with new essays by François Hudry, author of Ernest Ansermet, pionnier de la musique, and Jon Tolansky. It includes recordings not previously released on CD.
MORE INFORMATION
Over fifty years after Ansermet’s death, the recordings he made of more than 300 works by 65 different composers still have a vibrant, contemporary feel. Not only are they the work of an exceptional musician, but each of them was also made in the best recording conditions of the time.
A bonus documentary CD, Ernest Ansermet: Pioneer & Pacesetter, includes the full animated talk about music and the human ear and brain "What Everyone Should Know About Music," in English, French & German as originally recorded and released on LP; excerpts from rehearsals for recording sessions included in this set; and interviews with musicians who had played under Ansermet.
