LIMITED EDITION!
One of the most significant pianists of the 20th century, Maurizio Pollini made history with his Chopin recordings, thanks to the breathtaking brilliance, concentration, and clarity of his playing. His recordings of works by his beloved Beethoven, Schumann, and Schubert also set standards and remain benchmarks today. His recording career with Deutsche Grammophon spanned half a century, from 1971 to 2022: The relationship began in 1971, eleven years after the pianist’s victory in the 1960 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw at the age of eighteen. With the exception of the Chopin works he set down immediately thereafter, Pollini was an exclusive artist on the Yellow Label for over five decades. During the course of this amazing collaboration, his recordings won a plethora of awards, including Gramophone and Echo Awards, Diapason d’or, Record Academy Prize, Tokyo, and Stella d’oro as well as two Grammys®. The maestro, whose playing is considered 'a perfect fusion of architecture and passion' (Jed Distler), passed away in March 2024 at the age of 82.
