Roots (CD)

$21.95

Itzhak Perlman protégé and rising star violinist Randall Goosby releases debut album Roots with Decca Classics.

MORE INFORMATION

The album is an exploration of music written by Black composers and inspired by Black American culture. It is also an homage to the pioneering African American composers who paved the way for Goosby and his generation of young artists. The first single “Adoration” was written by the African-American composer Florence Price and is recorded with violin for the first time ever. The album also includes other world-premiere recordings of music by Price – rescued from an abandoned house over a half century after her death.

Through Roots, Goosby celebrates his heritage, journey and shows the power of music to inspire and transcend all cultures.
